CALENDAR
Whooping Cranes Return to Rockport…
The first whooping cranes of the season were recently spotted on San Jose Island, the barrier that separates Aransas Bay from the Gulf of Mexico. More than 200 birds are expected to arrive this year, setting a new record. The Aransas/Wood Buffalo flock is the world’s only wild migrating flock of Whooping Cranes. During their stay at The Lighthouse Inn, we recommend that guests visit the cranes at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, home to many of the unique animals that reside in the area.
The sooner your family joins us here at the Inn the better, since the wolfberries and blue crabs are plentiful for the cranes to eat this time of year.
Holiday Festivities…
Over Thanksgiving weekend, a special beaded jewelry trunk show will be featured at The Lighthouse Inn. Jewelry designer, Beth McElhaney from Austin, Texas will be here from Friday, November 26th Saturday, November 27th from 10:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m. Guests are invited to stop by and take advantage of this special opportunity.
In addition, don’t forget the Lighted Boat Parade followed by the Lighting of the Christmas Tree on December 4th. Caroling at the Mansion begins on December 11th.
